It definitely needs more power. You can feel it when you go to pass. I don't know if the TRD blower does a better job...but the truck as it is...needs a tad more umph.

Mine has adequate power. Cruises fine at highway speed. Dies well with a load.

It does not have great acceleration but my wife has a 300hp sedan which satisfies the need for speed.

Overall the power, economy, hauling abilities are well balanced on the Tacoma.

A little of this and a little of that.
I have the 4.0 V6 and feel that power is adequate for the size truck.

I think the Tacoma has plenty for its intended use. I never felt it "lacking" for grunt. That being said, I've found myself in the past, on my sport bike, throttle pegged, and wanting more power. Even though it could run a 10 sec. quarter mile. I think we get used to the power we have, and at times, it can seem like its "slow". Its all personal perception I s'pose........

My 2.7 4x4 with a 5 speed is anything but fast. But I love the slow torquey feel. I would not change it at all. I just got 410 miles out of my last tank, wouldn't want to ruin the mileage either.

SC w/urd pulley, afe cai, URD LT's, TRD cat back. 375hp. Custom logos, tonneau cover, westin bar with piaa lights, aero force gauges, custom front air dam, Westin step bars.
Nothing another 100hp and 5 more mpg wouldn't fix!

    I came from driving a 2011 wrx.
The first impression when I test drove my 2013 Baja Tacoma
I thought to myself, the truck was super slow.
I stepped on the gas pedal hard! And it took like 3 second for the truck to start pulling.

But then after I BOUGHT it, I never stepped on it hard and is currently at 700 miles
Easy going mile but at times I do push the pedal harder to pass people and what not.
But most of the time I felt like I couldn't make it, and just slow down to wait and pass.....

    Is this normal lol?

I don't get all upset about more HP and torque, but the supercharger is in my plan. With the manual trans you can keep the truck in the torque band pretty good.

I came from driving a 350 HP Volvo C30....I know what you mean. I have just adopted the country philosophy of driving like I am in no hurry. I like driving my truck slow, as weird as it sounds, it is kind of fun.

My buddy added a Banks Power exhaust and intake.he says his went up in power and has no problems. He claims 270Hp after upgrades. Seems a bit much. I wish it was 300hp with the same 21mpg hwy Stock

It's adequate. The supercharger is in my plans, though.
