The cost of driving it 5000 miles is a LOT less than what you're spending on that rental.
$500 for a set of tires that last 100,000+ miles makes $25 in 5000 miles. And that's at average wear rate, which of course is a lot worse in city stop and go driving. For highway driving, wear and tear is negligible to non-existent. Highway miles are FREE in terms of wear and tear, whereas your city driving gives you one unlubricated cold start ever mile for short abusive trips, accelerating cold 5 times a mile at every traffic light.

Fuel... you're paying for whether you're driving your vehicle or a rental.

So what that means is that you're wasting $325 by renting a shitbox. In fact, probably more than that.

Don’t change a thing! Red-eye gravy & grits beats to hell any other combination with the possible exception of adding cheese to the mix

Bought the wife a top of the line CRV Touring. I have to say the 1.5L Turbo engine is amazing. Love the eco mode button....off. Yet 29 in the city? Perfect car for my model wife.

I disagree. I’d put 60k miles or so on my truck a year if I didn’t rent on long trips. Hell, I put about 30k/year just on one of my Harley’s. Lol.

Red eye gravy is the shit btw. Just saying. I’d save money by flying as well. I hate flying though , I like seeing the world by land versus from a window in the sky.

There is no point in debating that man. Just take a look at the dumb shit he says and his even dumber signature.
