anyone from pensacola or alabama area or panhandle florida, can do a recommendation where you can camp on the beach for over night, looking at google, everything seems to be taken by people, and if there are spots what special regulations apply? i am mostly moab and colorado area, but going to visit faimily there thinking of doing beach camping.

    thanks for help.

I was going to post the same question. I found Johnson Beach on google. They offer primitive camping with a 7 dollar admission fee. According to the website it is about a half mile hike from the parking area though. I was hoping to find a place where you can truck camp, but haven't found anything yet. I'm not interested in an RV park and a concrete pad with hundreds of people. Maybe a local will chime in. I'm from TN.

Any luck on truck camping spots? Also interested. Unfortunately my state has no real beaches to speak of...

Most state parks are set up for RV camping. I'm in Panama City right now, St Andrews out at the beach has some nice tent only spots. Blackwater State park is also a good one that I've been to and that is right outside Milton, FL I think

Take a look at Big Lagoon State Park..although youll be camping along the bay, not the beach.

Also, Fort Pickens has camping, but again, you wont be right on the sand.
