well, technically you're supposed to play dead with a bear attack. But yeah, that's a black bear and those stupid ass people could have scared it away if they would have at least tried. It may have been pissed and came their way, which is most likely why they stood there like idiots, but damn, I would have thrown some rocks and at least tried...and quickly might I add.

well I think being big and loud is the first thing to try, then when one is actually chomping on you, that'd be a good time to try the dead thing since there's no way to overpower one. Me.....I scare them up trees with my Colt 45 by shooting into the tree next to it, no way was it getting my 9 days worth of tri tip and meat for my camping smoker!. :D

good call lol i don't know if we let them have guns in Japan?

you can be prosecuted here in OH for defending yourself from a blackbear. a woman and her ten year old son were hunting a few years back and had a run in with a bear. the woman stated that the bear was acting aggressively towards them and began to approach when she shot it. the state authorities were considering and could've pressed charges on her, but eventualy decided not to. bears are on the protected list in our state. i'm pretty sure that children are on that list somewhere too...must be below the bear.

tahts how mountain lions are. we had one on our hunting property a few years back and the local DNR guy wouldn't believe us. my uncles friend was actually scouting one day and turned around on a whim and it was about 30 feet behind him stalking him. my uncle told the DNR guy if he didn't believe him he'd shoot it and prove it. the DNR guy told my uncle if he shot a mountain lion he better have bite marks or claw marks to prove it was life or death or he'd be in a world of hurt.

i understand not going out and hunting bears and mountain lions for sport, but its stupid you have to be half digested in order to kill it and not get in trouble

that was so lame but i couldn't help but laugh out loud when i read that
