34 votes so far, well, that's something. Very noble idea OP, trying to bring us together. I bet most people (including me) voted on multiple dates, trying to figure out and accommodate to others. Hard to decide and agree...
It might end up being a last minute thing, with individual announcements from members, like: "I'm heading to Octoberfest this or that day, anyone else coming? Wanna meet up?"
Still, even that will be better than nothing.
Hopefully see at least some of you guys over there, at one of the dates, lol , so you could check out my fresh pinstripes....

Yea it's multiple votes, only 4 people actually voted. Looks like Sept 24th and any Sunday in October are good days for a meet up.

We said we wanted to do 1 meet up each for September and October so let's make Sept 24th the 1st meet up. Everyone cool with that??

I live a few miles from Bear Mountain. My daughter works there as a lifeguard during the summer and I've ridden my bike up to the tower a few times.

The Oktoberfest is always packed. Meeting up and heading up Perkins Memorial drive around noonish might be too late. They usually block off the two main vehicle traffic entry points at the base of the park (along 9W.) I'm not sure what they do at the Seven Lakes Drive entry. Probably blocked off as well.

During major events and holidays, I always see people parked along 9W and hoof it up to the park.

If you guys do manage to make it up to Perkins Tower with your trucks, I suggest you take one of two off-shoot trails that are marked "Picnic Area" These are gravel/dirt trail loops with pin-stripe capable brush along the way. Low clearance vehicles and wide SUV's tend not to go through because of the potential for mild underbelly dragging and pinstriping. Parking at the top of Perkins is extremely limited. The off-shoot trails is your best chance of gathering as a group.

The "Picnic Areas" have no picnic tables, but have some relatively flat spots where you can park and picnic. It is a "pack it in... pack it out" zone.

Was there last week to check out the view at the tower and enjoyed a picnic with the family.

Thanks for that @Subway4X4. We'll have to figure it out somehow. I do remember a few yag parking nightmares at the end of the parkway, and access to the top being closed off.
Last year no issues with parking, but we didn't stay long as it got cold and started to snow the day we went.
I'll have to check out those "Picnic Area" places!
    Thanks again.

BTW, I dig your setup! Bumper table, cook top (grill), even an umbrella!
I don't have a fancy set up like yours, and I'm trying to figure out how to attach a spare umbrella to the back of my truck, since I'm not going to get a gazibo for AOAA event. That and a few more things I have to figure out in next few weeks.

I am in, the parking lot at Anthony Wayne is a big enough spot to get a pretty good get together. I will try to get to what ever meet date you guys come up with, even if I am working. I will watch for dates.

+1 on the shirt, hopefully Casey is OK after the storm, and he'll be able to send it over :fingerscrossed:

I don't know the area too well, so we will try to comply the master plan, lol.
I'll be coming with my wife and 2 little ones, they will have to stretch their little legs a bit after the ride.
Somehow during the visit, we have to check out the carousel, and I've heard there is a zoo, so that too.
Sooo, not to poop on plans, but I have to accommodate to those requirements, lol. :D
