I need help finding which bearing is making the noise which I hear loudest at about 40 mph. Truck only has 70k miles. I first suspected a front wheel bearing but noise doesn’t change when I swerve from left to right. There is a slight vibration which I can feel in the seat and on the floor that makes me think it might be a drive shaft support bearing but who knows. That could be rear wheel balance issues. Just had tires replaced and transmission flushed at local Toyota dealership. Didn’t notice the noise before that but I guess it’s just one of those things that happens. Any suggestions appreciated.

Jack up each wheel just and inch off the ground independently one at a time and give each a good couple turns by hand as fast as you can see if you hear or feel any grinding.

Then block the front wheels front and back and jack up the rear axle with stands and with the truck in neutral engine off rotate the driveshaft by hand to check the drive shaft.

You can also with the truck on all four wheels grab the driveshaft with one hand infront of the carrier and one hand behind it and wiggle it up and down (ground to sky) and see how much slop the carrier doughnut has. Shouldn't have much movement. Granted carrier bearing usually clunks due to the rubber doughnut failing before the rotating bearing.

Thanks for the information. I’ll try that. Those bad bearings can be hard to isolate.
