Beat down Tacoma's

Not sure if a similar thread has been started before but I had a few pics of my "FOB Runner" I wanted to share. It has been in Afghanistan since 2002 and still has low miles (~20K). It has been beat down but still ran like a top when I left a few months ago. Anyway, this is a testimate of how well these are built.






And this was my diesel Hilux. I wish they were sold here in the states.

Thats pretty cool, cant wait to get a first gen! Who knows when that will happen though, my savings got demolished by school fees

 

Yea, the Hilux was well cared for but my clerk abused the poor Tacoma. I was in Afghanistan in 2002 when these Tacoma's came in, drove them off the C-17 and we fielded them. Now 8 years later it is still running like a champ.

 

Here are a few of the FOB runners we had on the big base I was on when I first arrived in Iraq.

I really like those white land cruisers. If I could buy one here I would trade my tacoma for it in a heartbeat.

On the smaller outpost where I spent most of my deployment we had two diesel Hilux's That were also great trucks, but I don't think I have any pictures of those. I'll have to search.
