If you don't cut, do you still need seam sealer? Bought my mini sledge and shower mat to beat it, now just have to make time. Doubt my neighbors want me beating on my truck at 3-4AM.

I didn't have to earlier on in my build but it wouldn't hurt anything to play it safe and seal it. Even if you get a can of rubberized spray like flex seal, that should work.

Any automotive grade sealer work? I'll probably be beating the weld before Sun (going out to Kansas Rocks).

I read a lot not to cut the pinch weld but to beat it outward. The seam seal is if that weld cracks from being stretched outward

That's the plan, carefully roll it all over at once, working back and forth along the weld till it's all the way outward.

so i cut on each side of the mounting tab to keep it in place for the liner. and bent the well inward. is it the end of the world i didn't bend it outward. the whole fender liner is stay in and just heat gun forming it out of the way

Not the end of the world as some people have bent them inward also. Bending them outward adds a touch more clearance to my knowledge, unless there’s more reasoning to it. As long as you sealed them well you oughta be fine

Oh ok. Well you did say that you’ll be putting the stock liners back on so that should provide ample coverage

I cut the lower part of my liner off about to the point where the pinch weld gets thin (10ish inches) without really even thinking about putting it back after done beating the weld. Any body else do this? Only down side I really see is mud and dirt getting piled up in the little nook back there. Or did make a expensive mistake?

Did you have to cmc to fit those tires as well?

I don’t need new tires yet. I have 255/85/16 km2’s and on my second set. I’d just get the same next time but they don’t make km2’s anymore, so now I’m down this rabbit hole of trying to fit bigger tires next time. Last fishing trip I hit at rock so hard on the frame my truck stalled out.. or maybe I just panicked and dropped the clutch.. either way, I want to keep stock wheels but largest tire possible. This shit is ridiculous cause I ran the shit out of my truck with stock tires and a spacer lift lol always made it home. Jut trying to do better.

BI has some serious roads although most fishing spots are mild. And no concern of deep sand like you guys on Kauai. Also, I don’t really hunt, so mud is rarely an issue

Yup! CMC for sure lol, had the shop perform that same time they mounted the 295’s. They did a clean ass job! I wanted more width for the sand like you mentioned, never did have to air down these tires yet which was my goal cuz I’m lazy and just wanted for drink on the beach ASAP lol! Sounds like the skinnies benefit you more, didn’t BFG make KM3’s? One thing I wish is that they made my size or near identical to it in a C-range.

I hear you, I felt like I was more brave when I had everything stock lol.

Same except with 0 offset F5s. Might have to look into those liners then. No issues rubbing at all?
