    Well, got everything done today!

Only thing the shop didn't do was the brake line bracket. There is only one bracket in the kit and they said it wasn't really needed. Plus, they said they'd have to cut off the old bracket to install the new one which they didn't want to do...

Does anyone actually know where this brake line bracket actually goes? And my other thought is, why isn't there two brackets?

Anyway, here's the before and after... (don't flame the steps. They are stainless steel not chrome!! hahah)

    image_zps9dae4d5b_692fc6985d03f7b524159e1784fedb4633d63dbe.jpg

I feel like I need to lift the back. I like the factory rake and it feels like the font is too high. Will probably just AAL at some point but in no hurry...

On the ride home, didn't actually even notice a difference in the ride!

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Looks nice!

Once you start hitting some bumps and potholes you'll notice the difference in the ride.

The brake line bracket does not need to be cut. I'll try to post a pic this weekend.

Maybe one of the real Baja owners will post one up for you before I can.

I noticed the factory marks all of the Baja parts with a pink marker, as you can see in the pic at the top of the page. You could swing by a dealership that has a Baja and see how they install the brake line bracket.

Thanks! Look forward to the picture...

Why is there only one bracket and not two?

crawl under the rear and look at the driver's side. i believe you will be able to see that only 1 is required.

you could put the bracket on in 5 minutes if you wanted. it's basically a spacer lift for your brake line. it just stacks on top of the stock mount. it's only 1 bolt, if i remember correctly.

Here's the brake line extender installed. Remove the two clamps holding the brake lines leading to the wheels themselves. One is on the differential and one is under the drivers side leafsprings. This allows you to more easily lift the bracket after removing the existing bolt (12mm).

The clamp you get with the kit will replace the existing clamp under the leaf spring.

Put the bracket in short end toward the rear. I dicked around and finally pulled the spare off to get more room. If done during the install of the shocks probably easier.

Crappy picture, but it's to the right of the "V" sticker on the gas tank. New bolt for the spacer is 13mm. Put the old clamp back on the differential, new clamp under the leaf spring.

Thanks guys! With your help I was able to get the bracket installed and the extension clamp on the drivers side brake line installed!

Loving the suspension and Duratrac's so far!!!

Although, I now see a few places selling the Baja kit for around $1,300 rather than $1,550 :(

    Cheers,

    Jay

Does the kit work with a 4wd Tacoma because after rereading the thread and realizing most of my off roaring will be on logging roads this kit is starting to look better and better

How would the suspension be different between a 6 lug 4WD or 6 lug 2WD Tacoma ?

I don't think there is a single difference between suspension parts for 4x2's and 4x4's.

On the website it says it is for a 4x2 so I am guessing whoever posted it was not a truck savvy person

I'd be willing to bet the order will be cancelled by Toyota Corporate at those places. I had that happen to me twice. Thanks again for doing all the research about this kit, me likey.

tail gate lock, rear view mirror bracket, hood hinge brackets, and the list grows.
I just talked to Holman Toyota in Cherry Hill NJ and the parts guy told me that coeporate is asking for the vin number. He also said that they had to refund an order or two because of no baja vin.
