Me too. I can't figure out how so many people can afford them.

What's so hard to figure out? They work, then dump all Thier money into the truck.

A lot of us have enough money in mods that will total up the the same price as the raptor

For most people with families and houses, there just isn't extra money for a Raptor.

Maybe everyone who drives one is single and still lives with their parents.

I passed one yesterday on the I... Thing was sick looking! Had some new wheels and tires (couldn't tell at 70mph) and it looked like it wanted to eat the vehicles in front of it! Very expensive and seems like it would only be good for ripping accross a desert at 100mph+!
But I'd love to rip around in one!

Or makes a good amount of money to play with. You won't see a raptor parked in a trailer park

    Working on it.
Everytime I see one I drool. Wife says sell the motorcycle and you can have one.....that two tone black and red interior is so nice. For now I will kepp my Tacoma maybe in 2-3 years try to pick a used one with 30k miles for a reasonable price. I just cant justify $60,000 for a freakin truck....even if it is a sick freakin truck.

For 25-28k more than a Taco I'd rather get a DCLB, drop a v6 diesel or a custom v6 turbo engine into it, swap and reinforce the driveline as necessary, and upgrade the interior. With any money left over kit it out for off-roading such as f+r lockers, mid or long-travel kit, armor, bumpers, expedition rear racks and kit.

When I was in grad school, my research partner had a raptor and we'd use it to go out in the field (mountains of central NM) for all of our sampling and surveying. Its a decent vehicle, but honestly, the length and width of the truck was extremely troublesome when trying to navigate the jeep trails and shitty old mine roads that comprised the majority of our field area.

It's just not worth it when you can get a used Geo Tracker for $500. You could put $30,000 into and it would destroy a raptor and you would still have money left over to pay for your DUIs...

Eh... only thing special about them is the bigger engine. My stx blows them away otherwise, and my wallet is still full

Why not? A Raptor doesn't cost more than a fancy boat, RV, or luxury sedans that many people have.

People do have jobs that bring in more money than you and me.

    bingo. plus they're more unique.
but for a box stock truck they're pretty nice.

mines @ paint as we speak.

A capable truck with a warranty has to carry some sort of weight... :notsure: Maybe not 20k worth, but there certainly are a lot of creature comforts inside that bump up the value and price (heated/cooled seats for one) that the Toyota doesn't even offer.

Actually, I see more $50k + cars in trailer parks than I do in track house neighborhoods like mine. I drive by a trailer park on the way to the freeway onramp with a customized CLS63 AMG.

We have a lot of migrant workers in agricultural jobs, not uncommon to have a very expensive car sitting parked outside of a trailer home, or a 3 bedroom house with 6 new cars out front.

Priorities are more weighted than income.
