So buy one a couple of years old.... Even better deal. Yeah I don't know why this turned into a Tacoma vs Raptor thread. They aren't even close to being the same vehicle, both have there positives and negatives. Buy whatever makes you happy but don't trash the guy who makes a different choice.

That's a point that will be totally lost on most people here. I think Ford built a cool truck, and one that you can drive everyday (If you own a gas station).
I'd rather keep my Tacoma, but I don't begrudge anyone who wants a well designed fully warranted off road monster. 60 grand for a Raptor? Seriously? Have people forgotten the art of the deal?

Here is my real value, the raptor is overpriced, period.

High speed off roading aside, a raptor can't keep up with my truck. It's too big, too wide and approach angles are terrible. No my truck isn't stock, but it does what I need it to do.

No way in hell I would buy a used raptor with a (probably) bent frame

No way I would buy your truck used, it's been beat to running whoops and rocks way to fast. :D

Remember I own a Tacoma too! I'm just saying you're fanboying pretty hard. The only thing Toyota about your truck is the motor now.

Tacoma is a 10 year old 1/4 ton. Wanna get into the definition of overpriced...

Everything you're talking about has to do with being a hardcore offroad god. How many Raptors actually go hard through desert time trials or get jumped. I'd be extremely surprised if it's over 20%.

OK, maybe the Raptor isn't better than our Tacos, but it is apparently better than the Mars Rover - and cheaper :)

I own an F150 as well. My truck isn't beat to my standards, and I don't plan on selling it. 95% of my truck is still Toyota :notsure:

You gotta pay to have reliability, you could buy 2 tacos for 1 raptor. While I do consider myself and off road god ;) not everything is about wheeling, I am only bringing it up because you are bragging about a raptor which is made for off roading apparently. I wouldn't be surprised either, but I wouldn't gamble my money on it.

I'm saying the Raptor is pretty bad ass compared to a TRD Offroad stock. If you want me to say that you could take a TRD Off Road and for 5-20K turn it into a better toy than the Raptor I'd agree with you. But it still isn't the Raptor. It won't have the look. The warranty. The on road capability of a half ton. Good luck working your TRD in the oil patch or on the farm.

If we get into dollars a cents why not find an old Hilux and throw 10 K into that. I bet I could spank your Tacoma with it :p.

Let's agree to disagree. I'm glad you're happy with your Tacoma. I am too but I'd never try to trash talk a Raptor owner with my truck.

Why agree to disagree? The raptor is nice, it's just overpriced. Hilux is fugly imo.

Balls out. He got no money and admits to driving too fast.
I give the guy credit. Stupid? Maybe but, In my 45 years of coursing testosterone and un-tamable adrenaline addiction retrospectively, I could of made better decisions.
....at least Ford's airbag supplier learned how to set them to deploy...

I'd bet 75% of Raptor owners think that they could do the same jump just fine. Ford marketing FTW.

Sadly you are probably right. Even when a truck, I'm not saying the Raptor does, have the right suspension to do jumps it's only a matter of time until you land wrong or do something stupid and break shit.

Had he nailed the landing, he would of been in the eye of Raptor's marketing
    dept.
I still dig that guy's "stupid". I feel he may be good entertainment at any gathering involving alcohol.

Out of curiosity, what's the nuts and bolts warranty like on the Raptor? If the suspension is designed to be capable of what Ford says it is, and you take it to that limit and break something, is that a warranty repair? Or does mild dune jumping void your ass like every other manufacturer would?
