Yeah. When the shop welded in the resonator, they welded in the o2 bung for the wideband gauge, so it's up and running now. I still need to actually hook up the mapecu3, so I can start tuning. It's just a matter of digging into the passenger side of the dash again and plugging in the PNP harness. I thought about doing it this weekend but could motivate myself to do it. This weekend coming up is my 3 day weekend, and I have nothing planned, so I'm going to try to make myself do it.

So then when comes the SC or turbo? This has peaked my interest if for nothing but curiosity sake

Not sure exactly. I'd like to say end of this year or early next, but who really knows. Before I do SC/turbo, I'm thinking I'll need to replace my clutch. Also, when I was under the dash working on installing my gauges and stuff, I think I saw a little fluid on the front of the master cylinder, so I may be needing to replace that before too long. Finally, I've been contemplating suspension and there's a guy on the For Sale section selling an Icon Stage 5 setup for what seems like a good deal.

It's hard to pass up a good deal but it would drive me nuts to move on to something alse before I'd finished what I was already working on. I guess though you already have the ground work layed and there's no rush. I've been curious about a turbo option in regards to off roading. I think I'd be worried with either about overheating or with the lag breaking stuff but a great idea

I just got back in town. My girlfriend and I went down to Asheville, NC for a few days. We met up with some other TW people down there and went wheeling. My mom lives pretty close to Asheville so we visited her and had a place to stay as well.

Son of a bitch I was just down there in Brevard. And, was in my truck. I put a shout out on the Western NC thread but it didn't seem like anybody was doing anything or wanted to meet up. That's just frustrating as hell and kinda funny at the same time

Lag isn't an issue if the turbo is sized properly. With the right size compressor and exhaust turbine, you can make boost down low, and it will spin back up fast when you shift. Also, recirculating the BOV back into the intake side of the compressor (instead of to atmo) will help keep the turbine spinning and reduce lag. A turbo that boosts way low may limit your top end power though, which is a big reason people go with bigger turbos. They want the high top end power, but it means they take longer to spool and have less power down low.

In a 4x4 situation, the turbo might not even do anything for you because you have to get it spinning fast enough to make boost. If you're just crawling along, it's like it's not even there.

Pretty much the same issue with a SC they create vacuum until you reach the designated rpm range and then create boost. The 6-71 on my camaro doesn't create any boost until around 3300 rpm's and then hold on

With everything I've heard/read of roots style SC and how they make boost at super low RPMs, I'm kind of surprised that boost comes on that late. I suppose a smaller pulley would get it spinning faster sooner to lower that and make higher boost. Out of curiosity, what's the redline on your camaro?
