Just wanted to spend more? The roll or brush on gives a thicker coat and covers more

Maybe. I know I read both cans when I bought the first set of cans and there was some small difference that made me pick the Pro spray. I don't remember anymore. I've slept since then. :notsure:  If I did it again, I'd just buy the roll/brush on stuff.

About to pull the trigger on the Softopper. Need opinions, everyone is welcome to chime in...

Add on the tinted rear window? Gotta buy the whole panel, they won't substitute anymore because it got out of hand and they ended up with a lot of clear rear windows without homes, and it probably screwed their inventory up. But if I do, I'd have a spare window if anything were ever to happen.

Add on the mesh rear panel? Just for air flow in case I ever camp in it. Although I think I can come up with an alternative with mosquito netting that would be much cheaper.

@90yota - You're the only one I know with one. Personal experience opinions?

So I have the mesh one, and have never used it. It was more for having the dog in the back and have airflow but she hates riding back there and gets anxiety so now she rides inside the truck

Yeah, Maggie doesn't ride in the bed. I was thinking more of overnight camping trips. I'm planning on building a super simple sleeping platform to throw in for like the trip to Flagpole we did. But I'm pretty sure I can figure out something with some mosquito netting around the frame if I need to get some air back there.

Also, and everyone chime in here... black? Or should I try something crazy and go for tan? I kind of like the idea of the contrast, but I don't know if it would be too much. I wouldn't be against dipping my wheels bronze to kind of give the tan something to half ass match with. Thoughts?

Tan or grey is nice because you can't tell if it's fading as easily as black

I don't really like the grey. I kinda like the contrasting idea of the tan, but everyone I ask immediately goes "Black!!!"... I hate making life altering decisions.

Tinted is good so people can't see what you have inside as easily, but with the topper being cloth and the window plastic, it's not going to do anything for keeping heat out. The tint that came on my shell in combination with the factory tint on the rear window makes is pretty damn dark. I basically never have to flip the toggle on my rear view mirror anymore, and the backup lights are mostly useless. There are times when I have to roll down the front windows (20% tint) to see stuff in the side mirrors when backing up at night.

I think the best bet would be to see if anyone can photoshop a picture of your truck for you with the various colors/combos to get an idea of what it will look like and if you like it. I'm terrible at visualizing how things will look without something to look at.

I looked at their website, and down at the bottom they have a Tacoma you can play with to see the different colors. I could make tan work, but I'd have to probably get creative with my wheels and maybe even bronze the emblems.

So I just did what the 6 other people I asked said and went black. Probably be easier to sell too if I ever got rid of it.

That was my reason for considering it. To be different. And honestly my truck probably could have pulled it off, but it was either going to be one of those "HELL YES!" things, or "Ew... WTF?" things. I don't think there would be any middle ground.

Lol... It doesn't hurt yet. But it will once I pay the credit card bill. Just like the armor... put it on the card, get the points/rewards, then before the interest hits crush your bank account paying the bill.

I need to get uninspired. I think I need an intervention. I'm piecing together a blue sea fuse box setup now.

It's taken me a while to realize that. My 20's were filled with bad financial, mental, physical, and moral decisions.:rofl::rofl:
