I can't justify money for a shifter knob when it could be spent on lights or something. Just me I've done very little to mine like that other than the raptor lights and some stickers. They do look nice though

This is where I am right now...thinking if this is the best use of money. I think you helped me solidify that I will pass on it.

Oh don't listen to me I shoulda probably have kept my mouth shut anyway. For $40 though you could buy led pods and a harness, half an aal, put 50 more with it and could have ditch brackets and pods with harness, etc. or buy a tent to camp something functional. That's just me thugh you should get what makes YOU happy it's nobody elses truck

So my son is getting ready to start his Eagle Scout project building benches for a homeless Outreach shelter. This has been a lot of work for me, dammit! Luckily I have a truck to transport the lumber!

We went and picked up the lumber for my kids Eagle Scout project. It may not look like a lot, but it was a bit nerve wracking driving home with the 12foot pieces bouncing. I was really nervous one could bounce and flip backwards onto the morons that thought driving real close to me was okay. IMG_1514.jpg IMG_1515.jpg

I can understand that stress. Can you reveal any objectives in this project? I think it would be fun to make something like that.

Not sure what you mean by 'objectives' but we are going to build four, 5-foot benches. The top of the bench will be three, 5-foot long decking boards (already rounded for comfort) and the legs will be 17-inch 4x4 posts (these were the 12-foot long pieces in the pictures). We are going to basically build a box 58 inches by 16 inches for right underneath the top, which will give the legs something to screw into and add overall stability. All this is pressure treated lumber, so I needed to get the lumber home and set it all out in the garage to dry out before we start cutting and screwing into place. If any warps badly, I would rather it do that now before we cut rather than once they are cut and put into a bench.

Here's to hoping I figured out all the right measurements! :fingerscrossed:
