Truck started smoking rear bad and burning oil almost acting like a oil ring was stuck.. ended up being my rock auto valve cover was cheap and the baffle In it wasn’t working properly causing oil to get by and through the pcv valve then getting sucked down the intake. Put a factory valve cover back on and she’s good as new

Got home about 10:30PM. LONG day, but a good time.

Ended up running up Union Springs, stopped at Meadow Knob, next stop at Flagpole Knob, then down to Switzer Lake. Tim headed home from there, me and my buddy in the first gen headed back up and continued over to Reddish Knob, then ran the rest of FR85 over to FR95 and came out on Briery Branch Rd.

It was cold and windy at the top, and even more so after the sun dipped behind the clouds. By the time we got to Reddish Knob, the sun was low in the sky, and peeking in and out. There's no cover at all up there, so it was VERY windy and chilly. Only stayed long enough to take in the view and snap a few pictures, then everyone was running for the warm trucks.

Here's the pictures on my phone. I didn't really take many. And of course my phone decided to lock up and only managed to get one shot of Tim climbing up the rock ledge (I was also trying to spot him), but it actually turned out kind of cool I think. Working on getting some more from the girls.

 

Lol aww you sound like you miss me butter cup? just been busy with these kids, work and holidays. We do need to link back up soon though.

Don't you know it, but yeah. We do need to at least get the group together for dinner.

 

Wish i was more active and would have know about the flagpole run me and my buddies have been talking about doing it for a while. But we decided to stay local this weekend and ride some trails around orange.

 

Also the ups man dropped off one of my new gadgets i had ordered

 

Looks like a good time. Thinking about doing another trip up there New Year's Weekend. Maybe New Year's Eve. Really just a faint idea right now, and I know everyone likes to party for New Year's (I gave up on that years ago) so I don't know how many people would be interested.

Will definitely let you guys know next time we go up there. We talked to one guy up there and he said dog season comes in this week and he “advised” us to stay off the trail until hunting season is over because some of the folk up there aren’t to friendly this time of year. But soon as it’s out we plan on going to find some more trails

 

In case anyone is interested, there's a trip to Bald Mountain planned for Dec 9. Right now it looks like we'll be meeting at 0900 at the Sheetz (2870 Stuarts Draft Hwy, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477). Word is that it's stock and prerunner friendly.

 

Bummer. My Taco goes in for 30,000 mile scheduled maintenance that day.

How many people are planning on going?
I am free that day and have been aching to hit some trails. It looks like its about 2 hours away from me.

 

We've got 8 people that have said they're coming and a couple of maybes.
