It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Mobtown sliders. No thoughts on where to wheel, just that I need to wheel.

I don't think you will find many in this group that will be visiting a chain store like that. Most all of us do our own work and purchase parts online to conserve money.

Lol I do every bit of my own work and buy online not sure what that has to do with visiting a store to check it out

I think what he was saying was that 4wp tends to appeal to the folks who are either new to the off-road scene or arnt familiar with other vendors and manufacturers who make off-road parts. My personal take is I dont mind buying from 4wp when it comes to accessories and stuff like air compressors, but for armor and what not I am quite selective as I dont know if I can trust the construction from the manufacturer products they sell. Due to this, 4wp has a sort of hit or miss rep with either having competent installers or guys who dont know what they are doing. I have been to the Richmond location twice to get two sets of tires installed as the holiday deals are too serious to pass up, but I dont know if I would trust them to actually wrench anything. I hope you don't find any of this offensive as Im not sure what your style and ability to work on stuff is, but 4wp has the "maller" presence to many in this community.

In terms of their Richmond store that has been around a few years (havnt been to the new one), they have a bunch of tires and accessories like straps and lights. Unless they were having a sale, I would just resort to online though.

Yea I totally agree more or less wasn’t sure if the trip was even worth the time for those “universal” parts like winches, straps, wheels tires....I would definitely not buy from them on a stand point of skids, lifts,UCAs things that I know are far far far superior else where

I guess that depends on how much a trip means to you...I think I saw everything I wanted to see on the show floor in about 10 min tops. Who knows what inventory is in the back, but hey its gonna be a rainy weekend if you aint got much going on.

Spent some time this morning cleaning the wheels I bought from another member. I’ve been trying to get these done so I can order my new tires, Toyo AT2’s. I’ll be repainting these black and possible painting the center caps red to match the theme I’ve sort of got going on. I used two cans of Goof Off Pro Stripper, and pressure washed them in between coats. I waited for about 15 minutes after spraying. It didn’t get rid of ALL the old paint, but it got rid of most of it. I think it’s far from good, but good from afar, again sort of like my truck.

    Here’s how I started with
    913E12E3-5286-474F-B770-CE5E1DEDD6E7.jpg

Here’s the first coat of the stripper doing its thing.

And here is all of them after the two coats.

I haven’t been personally, but I did buy my cheap steel wheels from them and a set of 33x12.50x15 BFG KO2s online for a solid price. (~$900 all together). Along with those, I got a $50 rebate card that my mom used in Richmond (on her way to Va Beach) and I got myself a yeti tumbler and smittybilt multi tool.

Took mine into the stealership today for the frame spray. I still have no idea what that’s actually going to protect but I guess it’s quicker and easier than replacing the frame. I will be interested in getting back under there once I get it back to see what they actually did. Anyone here have this done? What were your results or impressions of the end result on your truck?

Is this that frame rust recall?

I had that don one my Tundra. The shit they spray on never dries. It's greasy and sticky. You'll never want to work under your truck again.
