You failed inspection for back up lights?

No led exterior lights are allowed. Or I should say led replacements. I have to cover all my pod lights and remove my best top also because I never installed the third brake light

Ah is that a new rule or has that been around? I got reverse LED lights, but my fogs have the DOT lenses on them so they are DOT approved. My lightbar and ditch lights have covers though. Ah that's right I forgot about the third brake light as I have the Rear tail light bar that I have been meaning to install.

I never took the time to look natal the brake light as there’s no good secure mount at least I’ve seen yet. I stopped by the dealer and asked what needed to be done for inspection they said I couldn’t have any aftermarket led bulbs in stock exterior lights and of course the pods need to be covered

Ah so stock exterior means like turn signal bulbs, daytime running lights, reverse lights, etc. Damn that's annoying.

Honestly, I don’t mind. I liked the led tag lights but never saw any bennifit from the reverse lights..the only ones I really like are the map and some lights. They told me just smack someblack duct tape over the pods and it was fine. Maybe annoying if you had to switch back and forth I’m just going to put the stock bulbs back in and forget it. It’s just kinda idk fluffy stuff to me anyway just my opinion. I could see the bennifit of the hid headlights but just don’t feel like fooling with them.

Yea man the only thing that saves me with my headlights is the fact that I bought after market DOT approved projector lights. Because of this, the inspector would have to crack open my headlights to see that the projector has been altered. Besides that, its just a stock projector housing. I will probably have to swap out the DTRL when the time comes if I am still in VA when it comes time for inspection. Partly why with my girl that I am having her keep a stock set of lights so that we can just swap those out when the time comes.

No need to remove the Bestop. Just fold it down. That's what I did with mine last month when I did my inspection.

6 clamps and it lifts right off easier than taking the side and rear panels out and folding it down

My Baja Design fogs had to be pulled from the bumper to pass last year, no DOT stamp in the lens. Luckily it's only a five minute job....

Mine failed for front window tint. Then I took it to a station in the hood. Passed very quickly

It's quicker for me to pull the lights than to drive to your neighboring hood....

Was working on my bhlm and became distracted with how ugly my front plate was. I still think I may adjust it up an inch or two and back closer to the bumper.
