    A thing or two...
    Morning.

Waiting for the movers to arrive with my stuff. The arrival window provided was 0900-1000. It's 0950 now, so I fully expect them to be late. I did call to get the power switched to my name and got internet install scheduled. I need to go into town to switch water/sewer/trash, and do a couple of things for the internet install. For whatever reason, I have to get the property management to sign a form saying it's okay to get internet installed, and I need to sign the contract.

Time will tell if I get fucked by this internet service. All the companies except for one have data limits on their service. Of course, the company without limits doesn't service my place. The online data estimators say my usage could be 1/2 to 1+ TB per month. I went with a plan that's 750 GB, hut I can upgrade if I need to.

Unpacking and purging more stuff that falls into the 'Why the fuck do I still have this?' category. Also, photographing all the damaged items for my claim.

My wife is a freakin' pack rat. She has shit in the basement 20 years old that she refuses to throw out because "she might need it someday."

When I moved into my new place I went through everything. I think I tossed about half of what I had. My theory is if I haven’t used it in a year I don’t need it. Minus my USMC stuff, MRE’s and Red Sox memorabilia.

Something I learned was to take a bunch of stuff you haven't used in a while, put it in a box, seal the box with packing tape, write the date on the box and put it in the attic or basement or wherever. The important thing is though, do not write what the contents are; just write the date you sealed it.

Next year you will probably not remember what you put into the box, and you certainly haven't needed what's in it for a year. So now you can simply throw out the box (without opening it) and you'll be good to go. :)

Morning my little window lickers. I’m sure most of you have plans today. While enjoying this holiday with family and loved ones please take a moment to remember those who did not make it home. They are the true HEROS who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Happy Memorial Day and be safe.

Yeah. I'm guilty of that sometimes. It gets worse when you're in the same place for a long time and have the room to store stuff.

That's basically what I do whenever I move. I go through things and get rid of stuff.

Holy moly, though, l think the movers just shutdown the brain while backing stuff. I was unpacking kitchen boxes and found my bacon grease jar that I apparently forgot to throw out before the movers showed up. I also found 3 coin cell batteries thrown in with my copper wool soldering iron tip cleaner in one of my desk/office boxes. It's a good thing they didn't bury themselves in the copper wool and short out. :bananadead:
