Anyone have or know the process Of aligning the bed to the cab. It looks like mine is off from what I see from passenger to driver side.

Loosen the bed bolts, adjust the bed, tighten the bolts.

    There are only 6.

It would seem helpful to have a couple of tape measures and an extra set of hands, but it shouldn't take long.

It’s amazing to me how Toyota assembly line workers still can’t bolt on Tacoma beds and rear bumpers correctly at the factory (my rear bumper was crooked and I had it corrected under warranty). Where are the QA assembly plant engineers?

Get a good quality torx bit. Bed bolts are in there very tight, and mine had blue loctite on them.

If I remember correctly it’s a T55 bit. Got one at Harbor Freight. You will need a breaker bar as they are very tight. No need to remove them, just loosen and give the bed a nudge.

You ever work on a vehicle assembly line? Set the bed, install fasteners, tighten fasteners and move to the next unit. No time to worry about making it pretty because the next unit is up your butt and the line stops for no man. QA? Ha. We built 300 units yesterday and QA wrote 200 up because of the bed being off a bit. How do we fix this because it is interfering with production? No problem, we just order QA to stop writing up truck beds unless they are missing or falling off. Let the dealership take care this crap. Don't believe it? Go to work on a vehicle assembly line for a day and you'll see.

    Working on it
People that post stuff like this have never worked on any assembly line.

A coworker of mine did pipe laying on a ship in the gulf of Mexico. You had precisely 8 minutes to root out your section and then the pipe was in the next guy's area to root his section, then cap, then it was off the ship. You had 8 minutes to do your section. The ship did NOT stop.

Yep, and when you get a bit behind and get into the next guys space all hell breaks loose. Spent 25 years in a vehicle (semi truck) plant. Ten years in assembly and 15 years in QA/test departments. Quality is job #1 until the production numbers start going down and then you are told to ignore all kinds of issues, especially if their not safety related.

Somewhere around here is a video showing the assembly line when the bed gets mated to the chassis, the cab and rear bumper are already on the chassis and then the bed is dropped on and bolted down. Close enough is the name of the game as Toyota didn’t engineer in tight tolerances.

I just adjusted mine! Did not even notice until I got new tires! Mine was too far to drivers side. I loosened the 6 Torx screws and was able to move it around. Lots of fiddling and measuring and got it close enough to the eyeball where most wouldn’t notice if at all. I’ve been looking at nearly every Tacoma I’ve seen over last few weeks, and most have looked a little off to me. Job done!

Back when I would get new S-10's the boxes were always bolted on crooked, you can see it in your side rear view mirrors. Once seen you can never un-see it so you have to fix it.

My Taco box is on straight!

I have to align mine. It's driving me nuts and with the canopy it's even easier to see sticking out when looking in the side mirror.
