Just got done at the dealership and to make a long story short Toyota told the dealership to look at other Tacomas on the lot to see if they had the same alignment problems and sure as shit they did. One direction or the other…they were told to stand down from doing anything about it. Basically Toyota thinks it’s normal and acceptable, I do not on the other hand and will probably contact corporate to see what else can be done. This is a QC issue, obviously the truck is mechanically fine but you can look at all colorados and rangers and their beds are aligned with the cab. Cmon Toyota…

I mentioned the bed to the sales guy when I got home. He hadn't heard of it - shocking. I will probably just live with it, its a truck.

On the first day 3 issues were found.
Front emblem is scratched under the clear dome - was damaged at factory obviously since it is under the clear. Dealership ordered new one. Sucks to have to tear the grill apart to change, risk of radar sensor and body tab damage.
Fuel door fit wasn't perfect - seems to have improved by pressing on the door
Cab bed alignment off - probably live with it or try to fix down the road. Not sure if it is the bed, cab, or other that is off. Seems like you could fix one problem, then the offset will show up somewhere else (rear bumper, wheel to fender offset, etc)

The fuel door and bed alignment are known issues, so Toyota isn't addressing existing fit problems. QC is lacking! I hope the mechanicals are better, but not optimistic.

Dang it you guys, finding all these potential flaws to look for on my still-minty truck. Guess I got a one-off, cuz there doesn't seem to be anything wrong: no misalignments, no scratches, no trim flaws, no bad noises, no electronic malfunctions. Hope I didn't just jinx myself....

I love My 22. The bed alignment is really the only thing I’ve come across that bothered me. Most people wouldn’t even notice. I can live with it.

Picked up my 2022 trdor long bed. Bed is not aligned with the cab. I will just loosen the bolts tomorrow and shift it best I can and call it good.

My whole bed is shoved to the passenger side. Became painfully evident once I installed a rack and tent because the tent is visibly off center despite the rack and tent being dialed AF. Started poking around and sure enuf smooth to the pass side cab, big step on the driver side cab. It’s like they just shoved the entire bed against the tolerance one way and called it a day. Hell maybe the cab is off center and that’s the best they could get it with the bed.

The pisser is I have a Retrax, an UpTop rack, iKamper and they won’t touch it unless I, “return it to OEM”. For starters how about you fix your shitty Mexico quality control? The paint is trash too, numerous poc marks and fish eyes from new. I have nowhere to put the cover, rack and tent. I predicted that would be their response.

Ohh and the cab to frame bushings failed inside of 13,000 miles, it sounded like a busted box spring. Two recalls inside of the first year of ownership as well, airbag clockspring (affected) and rear axle separation welding slag issue (unaffected) they’ve had the truck 5 days now, “waiting on parts”. No loaner, have to spend $70 round trip on Uber etc.

Not buying a Toyota again the service is just kinda whack they try to weasel out of everything.
