The rollers inside are hidden pretty well. Shouldn't be an issue.

dude no kidding, I saw your basket and I started thinking about how to mount it from the bottom of the bed rack. if it can still slide, it'd be SO handy. I have a pretty good idea in my head, but I'm sure you can make it a whole lot nicer than I can

We supply locking pins to keep it from flying out the back of truck when you give it the juice.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to have a sliding basket under the tonneau.

Now that I have one.. from looking at it. Would we just need some small crossbars to mount to the edges of the top of the basket? Maybe some that gave it an inch of clearance? And then the slides could flip from bottom to top. This would take minimal addition and probably not be a huge price increase. We would then need a new version of your cross bars, shorter so they could mount to the roof of your rack. Again, we would need to figure out the clearance issue so it could get under the edge of the back of the rack. I'm game for some experimentation (thats what she said)!

This is how I imagine I would use it. That way I can mount a spare tire underneath the sliding basket and still clear the tonneau.

i would want it just so you're not wasting possible storage space. Im going to have a pull out kitchen and a fridge under my tonneau cover, and a in bed lockable storage box between that and the canister for the tonneau. I wouldn't worry about stuff in the basket getting wet, because a tent would be above it...

Any update on your new bars yet? I was going to order your bed cross bars today, but saw this thread first and wanted to make sure I didn't regret waiting for your new ones. Main question is, are they going to be raised or are they going to be flat (level with bed height)? I want a flat bar so that my Yakima basket sits just above the bed. Thanks!

The aluminum prototype did not go well. I'm going back to the drawing board on them.
