Bed, Bath & Beyond Crawler

Not so much of a build thread as a place to keep track of “mods.” No plans for a lift, armor or anything crazy. This is a daily driver that I want to look good. I have 4x4 because where I live it is almost required to travel all year across this state.

 

First mod- wheel decals, wanted to see how much I liked them blacked out before buying new wheels. Once the weather turns, I will paint them.

Also replaced the grille surround to an all black SR surround.

 

Second mod- tail lights and headlights, just some small touches with decals.

Window tint and blackout kit was done along with bumper covers. Windows are at 14%.

 

Matte gray off road badges. Everyone has black or stock, I wanted to try something different. They are almost invisible at dusk and stand out a bit in daylight. I’m starting to like how they “change” to almost fully ghosted to standing out.

Added Go Rhino D6 side steps and Rek Gen mud flaps.

 

Installed fuse block and an ANL fuse. Special thanks to @paranoid56 for a great mounting plate solution.




Also built the relays and wiring harness. I used heat shrink end connectors which are a great product. The gauge was close enough that I was able to match the colored ends so future wire management will be a breeze.




Once I decide on the back up lights and lower grille light bar, those will be installed next.

Hmmmm to go with an expensive quality option or cheaper but with great reviews... decisions, decisions.

 

Built a couple wiring harnesses for the lights coming next month.



Couple more, one a split harness for the backup lights.

Installed radio knobs from @OneMoreToyota. They blend with the dash much better!

 

Added @AJT DESIGN vent covers. The vents had really the only chrome inside the vehicle that seemed off somehow. This was a great solution!

 

Decent mod day...

Swapped aux fuse box, rear light, chrome delete, swapped switches, and dash cam. Also put diodes on the switches, probably not needed but just went through a harness (warranty issue) and didn’t want to take the chance.

Upgraded the front speakers and tweeters. Also added sound deadening. Will likely do the back doors next month.

Reused the stock tweeter brackets and just knocked out the stock speaker.
