"don't even look at your bed bolts without a 3' cheater bar, 5lb sludge and a torch"
"should put Never-Seez on those if you ever get them out before they lock up, future self will thank you"

    Me:
Good point, I don't want future self to hate me for being lazy with a new truck.
I wonder what the correct torque is to reinstall? - surprise! WTF not in the service manual?

    TW says:
"seems like about 60 ft-lb feels about right"
"I don't know but someone said about 60 ft-lb is good"

So... I checked the break loose torque (in tightening direction) on my 6 factory bed bolts, one at a time, using a well cared for CDI torque wrench, before messing with things, on a 5 month old truck.
I got movement on 5/6 at around 46-48 Nm (34-35.4 ft-lb). The other one was unhappy the entire way out, looks like dinged the threads at the factory.

Long story short, I put Never-Seez on them and reinstalled to 46 Nm (34 ft-lb) torque. That is going to be more than the factory torque I found given the lubricant. Note these long ass bolts stretch, so I did several clicks before they stopped rotating at click.

Seems like factory torque may have been targeting something ~45Nm? Unless Toyota screwed up my truck, or the joint relaxed over a few months, I think a lot of people are over torquing the bed bolts.

What I did was mark the position of the bolt head, loosened it, and determined that it took 40 ft-lbs to return it to the original position. Two different bolts gave me the same result so that it what I am going with.
