So far what I’ve gathered from this thread so far; op wants opinions on putting a camera in his bed because he can’t see his wood.
While others are more concerned about securing their loads, rather then seeing them. If I may quote @Mrtacoman88; “And for fuck sakes guys, secure your loads”. This is going to be one awesome thread :popcorn:

why not just tie the lumber down. I have found that nothing but paper will blow out of the bed.

Strap the shit down right to begin with and it will still be strapped down 2K miles later. Do it right or buy a "bed cam."

wait till you have bike suspension to deal with and wet tiedowns. Bikes will move no matter what, not that I’ve ever lost anything, but keeping an eye on everything makes for a far less stressful and quicker trip. I’ve done more miles without camera than with, and with is a far easier trip. All depends on how you use your bed. Loads of friends in similar situations, and all would never go back to no bed cam. Now the front camera is totally daft IMO, and I’d never use one, but I get / understand why some want it. Same as backup cam, some aware by it other think it’s daft. All depends on how you use shit.

I've strapped down thousands of loads in my 40+ years of hauling everything from car parts to wood to trailers to bikes. Strap it down right and you don't need a cam. Seriously and you know that.

Get the anytime backup with front camera kit and run the front camera to overlook the bed. You may have to get creative with the mounting point.

Yes, strap it down, but things do go wrong. Sometimes you just want to see what is going on with what you have in the bed of your truck.
By some comments, I guess you could say there is NO need for back up cameras or front cameras.....Don't back up into things and don't run into things and you will be fine. But, we use them to help us.

Since i don't need this all the time, maybe just a GoPro type camera mounted or suction cupped to inside back window with a small screen up front.

Or...Or...I could make the wife ride in the back to watch it...LOL

This would be my suggestion too. I run the anytime backup camera and it works great.
