Looking to get a cap for my '18 and frustrated at the lack of simple pricing explanations anywhere.

Anyone with a Gen 3 double cap have a topper they recommend and a price window they can share?

I just had an ARE CX Evolve priced out with minor options for $2400 (folding windows and a rope bar dome light) ... is that fair? Just want to make sure there isn't a better option at a better price out there. My main concern is getting one that sits the same height as the cab.

Thanks and pics would be great. I'm on my 4th truck and never had one of these before/know little about them.

Options make a big difference in price, so either you need to list your options, then compare, or just compare the base models.

Fitment is usually not a problem with caps, but the installation might be. I had to have mine reinstalled, and my interior leak since disappeared.

I got a CX Evolve and honestly, I would look at a different model or even make. Maybe when I got mine ARE was rushing to get 1 year of backorders out since they took them off the market for about a year but i had some quality control issues. That being said, I got mine almost fully loaded and installed for 3400.

Looks like you have a short (5 foot) bed. That may factor in. The region of purchase will also factor in. Yes, options will make a huge difference in the pricing.
I purchased a Leer 180 with windoors, a removable front slider, and roof rack rails and spent $3,000.

Snugtop CabHi with reinforced roof and rails, pet screens on sliding windows, fold down front window, dome light and usb outlets. 2075 before tax, took 4 weeks. I’m happy with it.

I would shop around for a used shell. I found a Leer 100 XQ color matched for my cement long bed. Excellent condition and $1200 out the door and installed. I drove a ways to get it, but would cost in the $2500 range new. I found a Leer 100 XR (wrong color) for $500. For the gen 3 Tacomas, Toyota dropped the bed side, so every shell manufacturer had to design a new shell. I've seen lots of great buys, just take your time and you'll likely find what you want.

ctagz - how are the sliding sections on the windoors? I've heard that the SnugTop Rebel's have tiny sliding sections because the windoor handles block it from fully sliding.

I got a price for a SnugTop Rebal w/ reinforced roof, roof tracks, sliding+folder back window, LED dome bar w/ USB plugins, ProLock w/programed remote unlock/lock, and sliding windows w/ pet screen quoted for $2949.80 in the Denver area. I really liked the idea of the windoors but the sliding section on them was super small (~4inchs) because it would bump up against the handle of the windoor.
