    Hey man,

I got the Lund Genesis Tri-fold tonneau and I love it. It handles the rain of the pacific northwest really well. Really no leaking except for those small cracks i have to seal up, but it's not really noticeable and it really is super easy to install. The hardest part is getting it lined up.

I have the factory rails and tie downs and it works with the rail system so you don't need to cut, drill or do any of that fancy crap to put it on. I recommend it.

    hope that helps.

    Hey, fellow NH Yota owner!!

Agree 100%, especially if you actually want to use it. My last Tacoma I had bought a roll up with the continuous snap track edges and in the winter had to carry a big pair of vice grips just to get the thing back on. Ended up ripping it trying to get it back on. Was a nice quality one too. Also wouldn't roll up nice in the winter, too stiff. I would actually take the whole cover off when I needed to use the bed, and then when I wanted to reinstall it I would leave it in the house over a heat duct, then run and install it as quick as I could. Never, never again will I buy one of the roll up units.

If you don't think you will ever need to take it off and put something big in the bed, then a roll up would work fine. Just install it in the summer.

I just added an Extang Trifecta. Love it so far, but haven't been through a NE winter yet. I wanted to get it on before the leaves/snow trashed the bed and my hi-lift.

Edit: I did have to mount the hi-lift at the front of the bed. Otherwise it blocked the release handles to fold back the cover.

It looks more like a Tri-fold rather than a roll up like it says man. Looks almost like my Lund genesis soft trifold.

If you're worried it might be a little sketch try looking around on auto anything that's where I bought mine I think it cost me like 270-300. Can't remember but definitely with it

For now it doesn't matter if it's a roll-up or a tri-fold or what have they. My main concern is if it would fit in a 2014 version that has a 5 ft. bed truck.

Also, disregard the sketchiness of the item because it tends to get good reviews on it.

It says it's suppose to fit your rig man. So if you really want it go for it. THe only other thing I would suggest is to make sure if you have the factory bed rails and tie downs that the cover works with it otherwise you will have to take it off. but from what i see in the add it looks like it will work with your vehicle.

    good luck

I was going to buy it right after you said it would fit, but I messaged the seller of the cover and sent me this:

    90svwl_c656782fe07943e010452c293edb52c9ea173425.jpg

I do agree with you that is should fit, since there isn't any difference between the truck beds from last year's Tacoma to this year's version. I really need to buy a cover ASAP and can't find anything else for the 2014 version.

Oh man good call on messaging the seller. That sucks it won't fit the 2014. I would say try looking at some of the vendors on this forum or try a big website like auto anything or something like that. They have a lot of choices. I don't see why it wouldn't work w/ a 2014. They really didn't change much to the bed I thought.

    Good luck in your searches.

To be honest I didn't think there would be any difference from last year's version, since it was the same even from the 2005 version. About Auto Anything, I've seen a lot of bad reviews about it, but I'd trust what you'll say than others since you got experience in them. I'll definitely try them out.

I'm also considering just buying a big thick cloth or something similar to cover out the bed truck when it gets desperate for me. Lol

Yeah I was a little effy on ten too from what people said but took the chance. Everything came in time and in good condition for me. Just depends I guess why're or not you get them on a good day.

A tarp would probably work until you get one. But you know what they say good things come to people who wait. So maybe you'll end up with an awesome cover soon.

Aw man I totally forgot to consider a tarp, which is PERFECTLY fine for me. I don't really need a fancy cover since I'm just using that cover when me and my family go to the east coast. It's a long drive, so we somehow need to cover up the bed truck.

Thank you so much man, you've helped a lot. I'm definitely hanging out in this site more often.

Well I hope the tarp works out for you. Just tie it down real good obviously. And yeah man stuck around in the site check out all the other stuff you'll find awesome ideas and plenty of helpful advice on here.

I'm finally posting a few pictures of my Advantage Torza Top. I'm very pleased with it so far. No water infiltration so far either from rain or washing the truck. A couple of drops of water on the inside of the tailgate when I open it to dry the truck after washing it. Easy installation using the existing bedrails. Most difficult part was getting the alignment right the first time. I've also adjusted and tightened the latches a couple of times after the gaskets have compressed. Very happy. As you can see I also have a Toyota bed mat and cargo divider. Good purchases also although the cargo divider was a little pricey (around 300 from the dealer) but very handy for smaller items.

I believe that the Undercover flex:
    1) is low-profile
    2) allows use of the rail system (you cannot slide them all the way the length of the tracks because of the clamps used to hold the Undercover. However, the hooks can be snapped in anywhere along the tracks)
    3) provides a reasonable amount of security with a locking tailgate
    4) cannot be cut with a knife
    5) allows almost all of the bed to be used even when it is left on

I just got my Undercover Flex a week ago, and am loving it so far. However I'm not able to use my cargo rails at all now that it's installed. from the instructions I've seen on their website, I'm thinking I may have received an older model though.

I'm fixing to buy probably an undercover flex for the reasons I stated above. The sales guy told me that the rail system would work with the undercover...but like I said, they're salespeople :(

So the undercover flex does not let you use the rail system?

I put mine in a few weeks ago and no not really. You could probably have D rings or something small hanging down from them but there is no way the factory tie downs brackets are going to fit. The cover is meant to be low profile so the frame falls in to the bed leaving the top flush(somewhat). If you really want to keep the use of your rails get the Extang Solid Fold. I looked at it but hated the latching system but it does sit on top of the rails and above the box. Let me know if you want some and I can take a couple pictures of the underside of the cover tomorrow. For now here is one from the top that I already have, I really like it.

I know it isn't the best picture, but it should show how the rail for the undercover flex uses the tacoma bed rail, but completely blocks it from being used by anything else.
