    I used 3/8" x 1/8" foam door seal tape on the back side of the cubbie, to seal between it and the bed. It fit perfect in a 3/8" recess right up next to the box, all the way around. Just got back from driving in hard rain, just to check where my new to me topper leaks, and the cubbies were dry inside, and all around.

    edit:

    Using a thicker foam may or may not work better, but this touched the bed all the way around, and is water tight so far.

    Finally got around to installing these, good stuff! I used silicone too but the tape really seemed to stick well. Nice little kit. I'm a bit skeptical that the door seals will last over time but I'm sure thats a cheap fix.
