So over the weekend I had a guy spot me pretty poorly on a line which led to a pretty good hit/damage on my end.

I ended up taking out my stiffener and trying my best to pull the rear end back into shape but i still have a pretty good gap. Any suggestions on how to go about pulling the rest into shape would be appreciated. I don't really want to spend 1000+ on having a body shop replace the bedside.

I was able to pull it back slightly into shape but not fully

the tail light gap will be fixed when the new tail light arrives i hope. I broke one of the mounting pegs to it.

side note, never letting someone spot me again for their first time ever.

I cannot help with fixing it. But will “sorry man”.
I do have some “Downsouth backwoods” ways of how I’d try to fix it.
It would either make it better, or a whole lot worse.

I personally would fix the tail light and keep on wheeling.

If I just had to fix it my self, I’d probably start with removing the cap, the tailgate, and then using a tractor. Ok, I’ve said enough already. Don’t want anyone around here knowI guess just how dumb I can be at times.

Hope you get it fixed soon, and get back on the trail.

Yeah I’ve been using wood and ratchet straps, i don’t want to spend too much because it’ll most likely happen again in the future sometime, with my luck right after i fixed it lol

    Sounds like my luck.
Maybe use the same spotter and go the opposite ways down the same trail.
Knock’er back over the other way and wheel on.

I bought my truck with 2 dents in the tail gate.
Haven’t worried about the others I’ve add since.
I don’t go looking for trouble, but when it happens, it’s easier to deal with.

The first dent hurts the worst, the rest are just “memories”

yeah, it was bound to happen, this is just my first significant hit on the trail after wheeling for about 3 years. If i can fix it for cheapish i will, if i cant then oh well.

    Tips:

    1. Wash your truck (at least around the damage, and under the fender flare).
    2. Use touch up or a rattle can where the pain creased and/or flaked.
    3. Wash rinse and repeat.

That said, it looks like what I would call, very minor to me. If you trail frequently, you will get more “additions”.

That pelfrey sticker was bad luck.

The damage really doesn’t look bad at all, hardly noticeable. If it really bothers you it’s probably best to go see how much a body shop would charge

body shop is too more than im gonna wanna pay, im just doing my best to fix it in the drive way and then leave it be.

To be fair the pelfrey slider took a massive hit and the paint didnt even chip on it. Thats also when my truck felt like it wanted to flop passenger side :anonymous:

yeah which is why im not trying to spend an arm and a leg on it, but if i can fix that gap id like too. still need to touch up paint the creased section. Other than that i did a quick plastic repair on the flare and slapped her back on.

Easy fix. Watch a bunch of PDR (pointless dent removal autocorrect says point not paint) videos go to harbor freight and get a cheap glue pull kit. If you are ambitious buy a pdr kit and go to town. My truck was all stove up and not worth th thousands it would have cost to fix the dents so I bought a couple hundred dollars worth of tools and fix them myself. I’m just going to Fuck It up again anyway so why not. I bought from A1 tools. All you need is a glue pull kit, some glue tabs, and maybe a knockdown to put it back in place. A heat gun helps keep the paint from chipping as well.
