I think I have seen this on here somewhere but I couldn't find it. I just noticed this last weekend on my pass side the bed is out of line with the cab. Anyone else have this? Makes me wonder if my truck has been hit at some point. No visible body or frame damage. Is there some sort of adjustment that can be made.

    Build thread in sig...
my bed is the same way in relation to the cab. my frame was bent from the factory. i've been going back and forth with my dealer for a while now trying to get toyota to pay for the frame pull i need.

Note: my dealer is great. it's not their fault, they are just my contact to actual toyota.

i'd get the rear alignment checked...there is no adjustment to the rear of our trucks, so if you find the alignment is off on the rear, you more than likely have a bend somewhere in your frame. that's how i found mine...first time i got my truck aligned, the the alignment guy (not at toyota) said that it should drive fine, but just fyi, my rear somehow is out.

hope this helps. i also how you don't have a bent frame (it's unlikely you do).

I have a 2010 Double Cab. All the double cabs from the factory are misaligned. Put you fingers in between the cab and the bed on driver and passenger side and move your hand up and down in the space. The drivers side is tighter than the passenger side by almost double. Viewing from the rear the bed is misaligned sideways. The bed aligned more to the passenger side. Or the cab may be misaligned. I do not have a bent frame. A few days after my purchase I went to a couple of Toyota dealers and checked literally over 50 double cabs they were all misaligned but not to the same degree. Some were tighter and some looser but all were misaligned. Is this a defect in design or manufacturer? If this why from what I hear Toyota moved it's Tacoma assembly to Texas? This problem does not exist on the regular cab or the access cab only the double cab.

2011 access cab, box misaligned by about half a inch.

Went to a toyota dealer and checked another access cab, which was also misaligned.

Saw the misalignement after being lightly hit on my tow hitch, my frame seems to be ok (visually). I don't think that the hit actually created the misalignement.

Mine looks slightly misaligned too. I've noticed though when going over small bumps at highway speeds the box shakes and moves in a very weird way (can't really explain it in words) like as if the bolts holding the box to the frame is loose and might just suddenly fall off of the frame. I know that sounds really stupid but all of the other trucks that I have driven have never done that.

BTW, mine was built in California

"Suddenly fall off the frame" I would be checking those bed bolts if its moving that much. This thread has tweeked my intrest so I'll be checking the bed to cab gap tonight.

I thought I was nuts when I noticed mine. I didnt notice it until I got tires that stuck out farther then I looked at the bed and realized one side was flush and the other is off by atleast 1/2- 3/4 of an inch!

The bed is mounted solidly to the frame. The cab, however, is mounted on cushioned mounts. What you see is the cab moving. Perfectly normal.

When I bought my truck the bed was actually lower on the right side. This is different from your problem, but I took it back to the dealer and we measured it together and they agreed. The next day they fixed it by removing the bed and inserting appropriate spacers between it and the frame.

Just thought I would tell you my experiece with a similar issue.

Fixed mine today, loosened the 6 bolts in the bed and slid bed over to correct. Came brand new 3/4" clearance behind cab on driver's side and 1 1/2" passenger side and pushed a little right. Now it is just over 1" on both sides and equal side to side. It did make the bumper clearance slightly unequal on the sides but it is close enough for me.
