Good morning from West FL! Are there any threads on lay flat bed floor bolt cargo hooks? Im loosing my side cargo rails for a lo pro cover so I need some more tie down location around the bed. Id like to just put some sort of lay flat ones under the bed floor bolts if I can.

The jungle has lots of cheap options like this but some people swear by dodge van tie downs. Dodge tie downs.

There’s also these things if you hate money.

But if you’re going to spend that kind of money I’d personally go with something like this instead.
Edit. I didn’t really look at the versatrax link before I posted it. I’ve seen much nicer Ltrack setups, where the track rests in the grooves of the bed so everything is flush. But this gives you an idea. I went cheapo jungle rings/dremeled bed bolts, but someday I’d love to add Ltrack. We use them on cargo aircraft at work so I would have no shortage of free attachments

Do you have a part number from Toyota that is still available?

D rings are best rings. I have found the OEM fender and floor rings to be sufficient for things that need a ratchet strap. However, many people get creative with their tie downs:

For small groceries I installed a set of light duty rings, according to this:

There's no shortage of creativity or inspiration if you poke around this site a bit.

Check rocklobsters first link. You have to dremel the bed bolts to add anything above the washer. The stock washer is captive

I don't see what's holding the washer on. Is it one of those magic tricks? What do you have to drimel off?

The ridges below the washer visible in that picture are slightly larger diameter than the opening. The dremel is pointing at them in the fourth pic on rocklobsters link

Ok I see the pics you are talking about now. That looks pretty legit. Ill probably go ahead and do that for all of the floor bolts

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Mercedes Sprinter D Rings. To slide the washer down the bolt remove bolt from truck, get a socket large enough to fit over the head of the bolt... sit it on top of the washer, and hit it with a bfh (i used a 2lb mallet)... comes right off. Holes in mat made with hole saw.

Consider me intrigued! How do you get it back on with that method?

When you force the washer down with the socket/hammer the ridges on bolt that hold the washer in place get flattened down... doesn't effect the bolt threads at all.

2 seconds with a flap wheel removes the ribs on the bolt. Then you can add any sort of hinged d-ring you'd like. Liberally apply Anti-Seize while the bolt is out too

How are you guys keeping these D-rings oriented properly while torquing the bolt down?

A bit of guess and check on the first one. You can kind of eyeball the remaining based on that, how many degrees it will turn while torqueing

you just loosed the bolt in the bed a little, put a socket over it and smacked it with a hammer until the washer made its way over the ridges while the bolt was still engaged in the threads in the frame?? This sounds a lot easier than hacking at it with a drimel or grinder.
