Purchased factory bed light to install. Any suggestions? Seems pretty straightforward.

    Thanks

Depends on year they make 3 different kits for the 3rd gen.

If 2020, prewired, easy AF. Just remove bed light blank inserts, remove 3 bolts near the tailgate/tail light (bottom 3), pull tail light with some force, run wire, remove harness cap (protective cap on the wire harness of truck), plug in, reinstall tail light, done.

    So fast & easy.

If 2016-2019 I am of no help

    Which ones did you get?

I installed oem tundra bed lights from Amazon on my 2nd gen. It's very straightforward however the kit wanted me to tap into the interior dome light so the bed light turns on when I unlock the car or turn the dome lights on and I didn't like that so I installed a toggle switch inside the bed so I can turn it on whenever.

When pulling the tails, if scratches bother you, wedge a towel over the bumper caps. Also, quick yanks directly rearward, top or bottom first. A bit of dielectric grease on the metal stubs makes it easier next time.

Extremely easy on 2020's took me 10 mins tops being careful to not scratch the rear bumper caps.

Anyone know where i can get a magnetic switch for the tailgate. It would be a reverse circuit as when it is open, it would be powered
