My wife got my a Tonneau cover for my 02 for my birthday. I was really excited, until I started testing to see how it would fit on with my bed liner.

I knew I was going to have to cut some holes for the clamps, but it looks like even more cutting is required.

Before I start cutting away at this $300 bed liner (that says Toyota on the front) I wanted to check if anybody else has a Toyota bedliner and put a Tonneau Cover on it.

There are three places where the liner meanders inward, front, wheel well and rear.

I bought the truck in 2005 and have never taken the bedliner off. I happened to meet the guy that owned it before me and he told me he put it on there when it was brand new.

I have installed tonneau covers on my daughter's 2002 and my 1999. The 2002 is a TruXedo and the 1999 is Access. Both are good and, from your picture, yours looks like a TruXedo to me. Toyota has two types of stock bedliners, over rail and under rail. Both of mine originally had over rail bedliners like your 2002. Before installing the tonneau cover, I swapped from an over rail bedliner to an under rail bedliner. Sources for under rail bedliners are "Spray On" bedliner shops and, of course, junk yards. It was fortunate that the "Spray On" shop where I bought and had the TruXedo tonneau cover installed happened to have a Toyota under rail bedliner sitting in the back that they swapped for me - no charge. The previous owner of my 1999 chopped the over rail bedliner when installing the Access tonneau cover. It did not fit to my satisfaction so I bought an under rail bedliner at a junkyard for $100 and reinstalled. You likely can negotiate better than I and get one cheaper. I only have this poor picture of my bed exposing the under rail bedliner with an Access tonneau cover rolled back.
You will notice the over rail bed liner will have rubbed paint off the bed in places. I have not fixed that yet on either of the trucks. One day maybe.
    Hope this helps.

Edit: here is a better picture

If you find a used dirty, grungy, under rail bedliner thats been sitting outside in a junkyard for years like I did, they clean up very easily. Scrub brush and soapy water followed by a shot of Armor All or Aerospace303 makes it look new again:

If you worry about rust developing under it, get a can of wheel bearing grease and a cheap paint brush, and "paint" it all over. After 15 years, mine was rust free.
