Have the Toyota tray plastic bed liner right now, looking to pull it out, and put a real liner in the bed, would like suggestions, Rhino Liner, Line X, or roll it on myself?

2003 with Linex, no problems. Had rhino on another Truck, no problems.
Rollin yourself looks like crap. Spend the money!

Armacoating is another option that you might find in your area. I had it done to a 2004 GMC FS, kept it 11 years in a harsh climate, no problems and no touch-ups needed.

Bullet Liner is also an option. I *think* that linex, rhino, and bullet are all basically the same process and chemicals (polyurethane, if I'm not mistaken).

I did the roll-in type on an old truck. It took twice as much as the instructions on the can indicated, and twice as much again might have been enough. It looked good for a year. After a few it was very patchy.

I had linex and will get it for my newest truck too.

brother got the rhino and its showing through in spots because it was only applied half as thick as my linex was.

I think its all the same stuff so you need to just compare the "places" you are looking at, because the prep sanding and cleanup before it goes down is the most important weather it starts to peel in places or not. just like a paint job, you need to talk to people who used each business in your area to see who had issues with peeling or overspray in places it didn't belong and who didn't to judge who does a better job. the material itself I think is all the same.

Line-X > Rhino. I've seen many pickups with Rhino that are wore through to the paint.

I'd go with Line-X, but whatever your choice, make sure that it goes on hot and not cold. I think most go on hot now as over time the industry has learned that the cold application doesn't last as long.

Also find someone who has plenty of experience as this adds to the longevity and durability of the bed liner. There's a lot of folks out there that say they can do the job but with little experience. So do a little homework and it'll pay off in the long run. Good luck.

In the Atlanta area it's running about $400 for line-x. Over the rail. I think it's a little less for under the rail.

I was quoted $375 for over the rail Line-X here in south Louisiana. I pulled my plastic liner out after I saw some pics with the bed all rusted out from the junk that gets caught under that liner on another thread. Luckily I'm in the south and PO was as well. You can see all the junk that was under mine and where it was still damp after I shop-vac'd it all out. I'd at least pop the liner out every once and a while to clean under there even if you don't go with a spray-in.

Linex corporate stands behind what their franchised dealers spray and will warranty it anywhere in the country. Rhino corporate just wants to sell the dealers product to spray, problems? Take it up with your dealer, not rhino corporate problem, linex was my choice!

Thanks, I had to scrub the shit out of it. It was basically mildew and took forever to get it all out. Line-X goes in this week hopefully!

What else have you used it on?

You will have to post up finished pictures in here, i'd like to see the finished results.

I've used it on the rocker panels before I had sliders. And they got beat to shit. The box liner never once ripped or ground down to metal. I've used it in the box as well. Best bang for your buck IMO

Lots of threads around here about liners (beds, bumpers, sliders, rockers, etc) but I rarely if ever see this product mentioned.

You'll notice if you look at the gallery that the Jeep guys certainly know about it and use it. Not sure why Tacoma folks don't seem to.

Read it, see what it's differences are, watch videos on how to prep and apply, pick a color (yes, there is more than black out there!)
