Looking to get a bed mat for my 99 and I don't really want the dreaded bubble that seems to be prevalent with the Dee Zee brand.

Summit has 3 brands they sale.... Dee Zee, Protecta and Rugged Liner. Anyone have either of the other 2 besides the Dee Zee and if so do they have the bubble....?

I'm about to buy one too. What's this bubble thing? Distortion in the rubber?

the hump you see in most all bed mats is the rubber cools on the edges faster then the center so it shrinks faster on the edges forcing the center to lift up in a bubble because it didn't shrink as fast in the center as it cooled when it was made. some have humps, some have ripples, and some have many small humps, it all depends on how the curing system was designed to cool the hot mat after its formed.

there is nothing worse then a badly done spray in liner, and there is nothing better then a correctly done spray in bed liner

My spray in liner was done well.....I just want a mat so stuff doesn't slide. The bubble I'm talking about is just as keakar describes.

The best bed mat you can buy is just a horse stall mat, well padded, doesn't slide, and no bubble. They are designed for heavy wear and all you have to do is cut it to size. Plus if you have a Feed and Tack store nearby it will be cheap.
