All good thanks, I ended up mounting mine to the underside so I can keep the hose in the box. We’ll see how it does with the dirt down there..

Solid looking install, I am sure it should hold up pretty good.

    Some stuffz
How much road grime, mud/dirt, or water gets into the box. Have you taken this setup off road yet?

You can fit a single in the box without modification as said by @Powder taco I'm currently working on that install myselfIMG_20180609_135017.jpg

Educate me please. What is the reason for having an air tank? Doesn't the compressor put out enough pressure to air up tires? Or is it for using lockers? Also, do I need a twin or is a single enough just for tires? I'm planning an ARB as my next project.

I believe the single is all that is really needed for only filling tires. Some people will go with the twin to fill larger tires, more tires, or longer duty cycle. I'm working on my install of a single so I don't have fill times but the data shows it should be fine in less time than the duty cycle for the single.

Not sure if you can answer this or @Jeff-exe (how do you @ someone with an @???) Expedition Essentials , but is there a reason to mount it with the wires down instead of up? I thought if I did wires up I'd be able to replace the filters without having to unscrew the entire setup.

Yes i taken it off-road, both in muddy and dusty conditions. The box has drains in the bottom, you will not have to worry about standing water. It is high enough up in the fender that it really is not an issue.

You are correct, the compressor is fine by it’s self. I installed a tank for a few reasons, I will run a front locker in the future, I want to install an air horn and I wanted the ability to run power tools.

You can mount the compressor the other way, it will not affect performance.

@Powder taco did you choose to keep the isolation switch and ditch switches 1 and 2? Why and which wires did you attach the ignition and dash wires to so they go to the plug in fitting?

I learned the hard way that the ARB harness only hooks to black and purple from the compressor. One is the sense wire, one is the ground(black). Shorting the two does not activate the compressor. You need to add a separate ignition wire (12+v) to send power to the purple wire to activate the compressor. Removing 12v from the purple wire will shut off the compressor.

I'm actually quite disappointed in ARB as my compressor cabling had black (ground) purple (sense) and red (12+v) going to the plug on the harness on the compressor side, but none of their other wire harnesses pulled the 12v from there and expect you to wire in a different 12v source. It's right there, why not include it in the harness?

What you said is over my head but I want to know what you're talking about. I'm in the middle of putting my extension harness together and I hope I did it right.

I removed 2 of the 4 wires from the compressor, leaving only the purple and black. I just followed the wiring diagram and connected only those 2 wires to the existing harness.

Are y'all keeping the ARB harness in the engine bay and extending power and pressure switch to the bed? Or running extension from battery and cabin switch to the harness in the bed?

Yes the main harness is in the engine bay and I use the expedition essentials extension harness.

Did you have issues with the factory thread rivits from letting the EE cubby mount flush to the bed? Seems like I am...

I tried to tackle this project on Saturday. I followed the template, drilled and then discovered the rivets were in my way when I tried installing the compressor/mount. I used the bar that affixes from the outside as a guide above the rivets and re-drilled...ran out of the extra set of hands to try to re-install the compressor/mount.

Alec: you may be in a similar situation as Paul was, might be just a little high with your location of the holes, the flange should sit just below the factory threaded inserts.

I tried to center the template exactly both right/left and both top / bottom. I may (if I did it again) have wanted to move it up higher. Even then I had holes that did not align perfectly and I ended up doing last minute re-drilling on my right side (since my left had metal behind the composite bed).
