New to the site but was searching and wanted to share the really simple two piece platform bed box I built out in my truck.

measured the front platform piece to the width of the bed and had to do some notching for the canopy tie downs but the carpet covers it so you never even know they are there. I used 5/8s for the sheeting as well. The the tail gate end piece is held down with velcro and keeps the front held tightly up to the front of the bed.

it sits on 2x6 that are rested on the sill the bed comes with. In the cab end spanning from left to right of the bed I have a 1/2x1/2 angle iron screwed in to keep the 2x6 square in the bed and adding support to the platform.

Having the 2 ft piece and very easy to remove makes putting in bigger items easier, the front piece takes a couple of minutes and opening the side window to get out.

really happy how it came out!

Searching for my first mods now!
