In my truck hitting the button does no good with the ignition just on. After you start the truck you have to push the button to turn on the inverter. There are 2 lights on the button, 400W and 100W. When the truck is in park the 400W is lit. I assume when you put the truck in gear it will switch to 100W but did not try that.

I've had the same experiences as described in previous posts. There isn't enough power and the system dumps down from 400W to 100W when placed in drive. I had hoped to use it for a small heater to keep a working K9 from freezing temperatures. A small, 250W heater will raise the temperature in the bed (with a cap installed) about 4-5 degrees.

I installed the inverter below to the rear of the K9 pull out drawers. It's accessed through the passenger side awning window on the bed cap. It worked well this morning for my two hour drive to work.

Bed plug should have enough power for something like the weBoost Drive X RV (471410) Cell Phone Signal Booster | U.S. Company?

Get with the times, buy a cordless pancake air compressor. Your truck WILL charge cordless batteries.

I was able to use mine to run my pellet stove during a power outage the other day. The pellet stove consumes around 330w during ignition, after that it goes way down and it’s just powering a blower fan and exhaust. I can understand the disappointment from others but in my case that weak little outlet kept my house warm a couple of days ago.
