I'm trying to figure out what to do or how to do it with traveling, so my back seats where the kids sit isn't all filled with travel gear. We go camping and all the camping gear and food go back there, but the personal bags usually ride inside with the kids in back but they are growing fast and will need the leg room.

How do you pack for camping and traveling when the cab is full of passengers?
What rack do you have, where'd you get it, how much , and what bed containers do you use for personal gear to keep it dry in case it rains while driving?

Pictures would be great or a link to your build with photos. Please.

I'm thinking a bed rack for the tent, chairs and other stuff while soft things and personal gear go in the bed itself.

    What's budget?

If it's 1k or more, buy a bed cap with crossbars on top, and boom you are done. Everything stays dry, and if need be you can mount an RTT on top, or haul stuff up there.

Bed cap being a shell? I didn't want to do a shell, it closes it al in and I wanted to be able to access it from outside. Like a rack with a canvas cover or something to that effect.

12v always on power point mod, tailgate anti-theft, Addl bed tiedowns, flyzeye dash lights, map lites with dome lite mod, bed stiffeners, air bags, brake controller, always on fog lights,
When we go camping, with the firewood and everything else, it can get pretty full pretty quick in the bed. We usually cover it with a tarp and use a bungee net over the whole thing. I secure it not only to the tie downs along the rail, but also to others I have installed in the bottom of the bed; two each side up front and two on the inside of the wheel wells in addition to the ones at the rear of the bed. That way, the tarp is snugged down so it doesn't whip in the wind.

I'm thinking a bed box like a tool box for the personal stuff like clothes and such, this way the cab stays uncluttered. Then with the racks over the bed things can go up top.

I have a shell with full length side windows that open up and out, giving easy access to stuff in the bed. Works great.

I decided on the softtopper for the bed cover, and just some plastic bins in the back to help keep things dry. The soft topper is greta but it's not water tight. around the corners of the bed is not a tight seal and I ended up putting weather stripping down on the inside to keep the water out while driving. Not sure how well it went as we put the topper on and went on our vacation to Sedona. Also the seam sealer, use it As Soon as you put the topper on and use it on the straps that hang down on the inside by sooaking the outside parts of it and letting it wick up and into the inner compartment. I didn't, and they acted like wicks and started dripping water inside the bed when we were getting ready to go on vacation. So I had to wrap the ends in a plastic baggy to catch the water and keep the bed dry.
The weather stripping helped but water still got in.
I'll attach some photos and a video:
Here's what we look like in Sedona:

If I had the cash, I'd like the Voodoo Over the Tonneau rack and a couple of turtle shells from Thule or whatever. Then you can have stuff secured in those while you have your firewood and other stuff under the tonneau.

When we cam, we use our off-road popup to haul a bunch of the gear inside and the coolers, firewood, camp kitchen and chairs go int he bed under the tonneau.
