StickShifty - Nice work, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing but with one of the bakflip covers instead of the roll-up. Just to be clear, you just used long sheet metal screws and went all the way down though the plastic and then into the sheet metal underneath to hold the tracks on, correct?

I was thinking of doing the plusnuts from yakima into the sheet metal underneath, but then drilling out the plastic bed rails on top so that the plusnut bolts would just go through a clearance hole in the plastic bed rails. I'm not sure if the bolts that come with it are long enough or not, but I guess I'll see when I get them in.

How is this holding up for you? Why did you remove the plastic covering? And not just drill through it?

I'm thinking of doing something similar

I am thinking of doing this but leaving the caps in place, placing the plus nuts and securing. In order to avoid the deformity I thought a large rubber washer glued inlace would help the seal.. I am glad you posted as I would've never guessed all those wholes were under that rail cap.

I am considering this, pulling the rail caps off, marking the spot I drill then re-installing the caps and drilling them. You said you can't get the tracks secure that way??
