    How would you anchor this mount beside the tailgate?

    Looks like long bed rack on a short bed.

    That's what I initially thought, but the track is a foot from the end of the bed.

    I guess I'm not seeing what the issue is other than the bracket being crooked? What's wrong with how it's mounted now?

    Mine are about as far out as they can be on that rail and I'm only using 1 bolt per bracket.

Skid plates & cat covers, 2WD LO mod (BB Tuning), Fumoto oil drain, ECT Always-On Mod (hardness by Funman1steve), 6awg DC DC tow charger wiring, inline 60 amp breakers & battery terminals, Kill switch, KJTO driver side grab handle, Hood hold open gas struts, Scangauge III, Seat Covers (Seat Covers Unlimited... wearing poorly),
    3/16 steel or 3/8 aluminum 2x2 or 2x3 L angle length of bed. Drill and anchor down leg to your sidewalls. Mount spacers under horizontal or countersink Flathead bolts pointing up to anchor your rack or a homemade rack plate.

    Looks like you could just drill another hole towards the middle, and then you would have 2 bolts with the bracket straight.
