Hey guys! My wife and I are finally deciding to get a roof top tent and bed rack for my 3rd gen! What I would like to know is all the small details that are often overlooked.

What else do I need to add to my truck to make a bed rack and tent work?
    bed stiffeners?
    suspension?
    mid height vs full height?
    wind noise/ gas mileage
    etc etc.

What are your experiences with them and what would you change if you could do it again?

Currently I am on a 2019 SR with stock suspension. ive got 33s on it. Rock rails and a steel rear bumper.

Bed stiffeners are a must unless you want to have cracks.

Best to keep RTT flush with the roof for better MPGs and less wind noise.

I’ve upgraded to dobinsons medium leafs (2” lift) so my leafs don’t sag when I go camping or just simply carrying all that weight daily driving. With your steel bumper, RTT and bed rack, that’s like 350-400 pounds of constant weight plus your camping gear etc. I would definitely upgrade rear suspension. If you don’t wanna lift, sumo springs are great.
