Happens with my tonneau or softopper installed. Just the nature of how the pressure is being applied by the clamps for the tonneau/topper. I thought these were only held with clips…no adhesive. It’s not terrible. I think the only way to alleviate it would be how the user with the installed diamondback cover said, more structural support where the cover is putting pressure on the plastic. Not a huge deal.

They put the clips to far from ends, they put a foam block with double sided tape and it won’t last.

Tried that, as soon as it set in hot sun it did it again about 3/16 only so far. Bad design.

My rails were up 1/4 or higher on ends, Toyota replaced them. I installed my new Toyota trifold bed cover and after a few times of setting in hot sun it pulled them up in the air again. Dealer said if enough owners complain Toyota would have to address the issue. No clips like previous years close to ends.

This what my bed rail caps look like. They are very, very close to the bed steel sides. The Diamondback cover and it's sealing gaskets overlaps almost the entire bed rail cap. That may be why my bed rail caps are flat against the bed surface. If your tonneau cover only overlaps the inner one inch of the bed rail cap, that may be what is encouraging the bed rail cap to bend upwards.

Yes, Toyota should come up with a bed rail cap that doesn't just come apart from the truck.

So I’m having the same issues. Went to the dealership today and they installed a new bed rail when they went to reinstall the hard top tonneau cover the rail cap separated again and they reinstalled the old one. They tried to charge me $ and then they reinstalled the tonneau cover incorrectly. Look like I’ll have to fix this my self. I’m thinking some wood or metal blocks in place of the styrofoam blocks with 3m doubled sided tape will do the trick
