I am new to the forum. Hopefully I put this in the correct thread.

I am adding a ladder rack to my 2022 long bed. It requires 4 holes drilled on each rail to secure the bracket. Has anyone "mapped" out the voids in the top rail? I don't want to drill into a void the then have to re-drill another hole. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

assemble the rack on the bed side without the plastic cover. Mark and drill holes, reinstall plastic cover, mark holes from underneath and then remove plastic cover, drill.

Or, drill holes in metal, reinstall plastic cover and drill up through plastic cover.

Is this a rack specifically for a Taco? I thought most of them attached via the bed rail. Also, if you're gonna be running a lot of weight on your rack, I'd highly recommend picking up some bed stiffener. They'll help keep the bed sides from spreading over time.

The yard guys have a rack that attaches directly to the bed rail.

    So does my topper.

This is the rack. ADARAC™ ALUMINUM PRO SERIES https://shop.agricover.com/product/adaracalupro

Its just for carrying ladders. Nothing too heavy. I was hoping to not have to take the plastic cover off. Not a huge deal. If someone already had figured that out, it would save me some time.

Per youtube, looks like they give you a template for the first bolt. then you use the predrilled holes to guide the rest.

Here's a no drill option that bolts to the bed rail. You do need to get the Tacoma specific clamps also. It's made by Thule.

YF_Ryan thanks for that detail. That will help.

dilbert - thanks for that rack option. I am looking to have a tonneau cover and rack combo so the Thule one won't work for what I am trying to accomplish. That is a good rack and a good price. Very nice plan B if needed. Thanks!
