I just recently bought a 2003 Tacoma prerunner, I was lookingvat mounting options and noticed the new Tacomas have rails in the bed for securing various things. Im wanting to know if 03 Tacos have them aswell because I see holes in my bed, but no rails.
    Thanks!

If you want to be hella extra, you can spend a hundred dollars on aircraft fuselage mounting rail which is much more elegant and expandable.

Or you could use what's called 'Uni-Strut' which is basically the exact same thing used in the 2nd gen rail systems. It's normally used for mounting and affixing plumbing, conduit, electrical systems, and junction boxes to walls but it works great for a bed rail system too. If I'm not wrong it would also fit the same bed cleats and mounting hardware. It's like $10 dollars for 6 feet I think. I'm gonna be doing it on mine soon.

Interesting, thank you for the information. I might head the uni strut route, much more cost effective. Do you know if the majority of the available Tacoma rail accessories would fit? Like bike holders, tie down points, etc?

No idea. I'm just going off that I see people selling aftermarket bed cleats "intended for Tacomas" that use the Uni-Strut mounting hardware.
