I wanted to show off my fishing rod holder I made for my truck. I started with Amazon and got the t slot bolts and the rod holder from Amazon. I can provide links if anyone is interested. Then I went to the local hardware store for a small sheet if 22 gauge steel, paint, and hardware, along with an eyebolt to use as a spot to leash my rods. The rod holder is removable but it looks pretty sweet just hanging out in the bed of my truck. I couldn't find any solutions I liked that were under $100 so I made my own. Also I angled the holder back to help give me a bit of extra clearance.

I'm going to steal your idea, although I might make mine more horizontal!

Brilliant idea!! If I didn't have a tonneau I'd steal this.

If you do it horizontal, you probably won't even need the sheet of steel. Good luck!

Not completely horizontal, but just not sticking up as tall. I'd also go closer to the cab...

I'm just spitballing what I'd do, don't change yours at all.
