I can't say for sure 100% given that I don't own a 3rd gen, but given how similar the 2nd and 3rd gens are, I would be willing to bet that the 3rd gens also use M6 x 1.0 BHCS.

Anybody in this thread have any information on how to fix the nut plate? Have sheared screw in one, screw just keeps turning in another won’t tighten down. As these screws and what appear to be embedded nut plates, hold bed rail and rear fenders to bed box, not sure if screws/nuts/washers would work with vibrations, also not sure (doesnt look like it would), if nut plates have enough meat to up-tap to M8, I try searching, here and the web, everyone either talks about bed rail screws or bed mount screws, never the actual attaching surface, so thought I’d ask

You could try drilling it out and replacing it with a riv-nut.

The fender hangs over the bed box with bed rail over fender, whatever I do, bedbox must be flush and smooth, but it’s a good idea, was all setup to pull trigger when the smooth flush surface dawned on me…thought about countersink but that would remove structural material from Bedbox….nut and washer might be workable since there will be factory plates on either side….Hmmmmmmmmm maybe ChatGPT can solve it ROFL
