I am building a solar hot water heater out of 3" schedule 80 and I want to mount it using the bed rails. Does anyone have any info on weight limitations for a single rail?

    thanks

    Thanks for the feedback

PVC, but filled with water it could be up to 100lbs.

side note, does anyone have info on the proper way to drill into bed liner?

It will support up to 100 lbs with ease.

    It's a composite bed, not a liner.

If you drill into it, just make sure you reinforce from behind with a large, flat washer, so the head of your bolt doesn't tear through.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I read somewhere they are rated for 200lbs tiedown.

That being said I am not sure it would be very sturdy on one side. I would cross the bed, using one mount on each side then it would be plenty sturdy. They have quite a bit of flex on one side.
