I would like suggestions on how others have mounted their Highlift Jack. Must be relatively secure( a padlock mount would be great but still stealable with time)

    THANKS

The cable idea with eye bolt has merit however there is nothing substantial to hold the cable unless I drill a hole and wrap around the truck frame.

Surely someone has a another suggestions. please send your experience and photos.

    thanks again que ball

Finally! I ordered some of the grizzly source t-slot nuts. I've grown very tired of not having an adequate quantity of tie down points.

WELL PSU Thanks for posting you high lift security suggestion.

However the d link in the truck bed seems the weak point. a simple bolt cutter could cut that using the truck bed for a convient resting platform for the cutter. Also the entire jack and cable and mounting brackets could be removed with a socket to unbolt the nuts from the bed rails. You would lose over $100 in parts alone. your idea is not secure to me.

Search for Torx security screws/bolts. Not the ultimate in security, but no one really carries around a Torx bit that big, especially one that made for removing the specialized security bolts.

I like your suggestion wareagle1 can you share specifics??? I have been all over this forum and searched also on this topic without much specifics found for Torx security bolts.

You assistance is appreciated. No one wants to get over $100 stolen , that ruins a good day.

I've got a comment and a question for those of you that used the Grizzly t-slot nuts.

I bought eight of them, found some grade-8 washers and 3/8-16 eye bolts at home chepo. They work great together and I thought it was the perfect solution. However, if I place the t-slot nuts in the cut outs of the bed rails they will rattle when torqued down. The problem is the t-slot nut face makes contact with the washer before all the slack is taken up between the washer and the bed rail. Therefore, although secure (t-nut can't escape cutout), it will rattle a little bit and I f'ing hate rattle noises. I can only think of two solutions, 1.) machine or grind the t-slot nut face down a little bit or 2.) move the t-slot nuts out of the bed rail cut outs and torque the eye bolts down.

I opted for #2. and it seems to be pretty secure, although I'd really like to place them back into the cutouts if I can solve the rattle problem without too much work. I'm wondering what others have done or what others peoples experience with these things are.

This thread is rich in dialog, but poor on pictures so here are some pictures I can share.

I did a quick search and found these at Hudson Fasteners. Here's the link. http://hudsonfasteners.com/sec/sec_tx_bhpms.htm. I didn't see an actual price, but on the chart I'm sure there is a diameter and thread pattern that will fit your needs.

Crom, if you wanted to take the trouble to package them up, I would be more than happy to buzz some material off on my mill for you.

As mentioned before...the 1/2 inch carriage bolts work great...cheap...and easy to find.
