Bed rails for first gen?

Jesus. $167 for two rails??!?! Way too rich for my blood. Great for anyone who wants to add “front runner rails” to their signature block for bragging rights.

 

Steel rivnuts or stainless steel? Stainless from McMaster are $1 each. A bit much. I could just do coated steel...

 

So I’m at the part of the install of the track in the bed floor. I think I have it measured out to miss the cross bracing under the bed.

Have you been happy with the location of the rails in your bed? I was thinking of bringing them inward into that larger channel from where you have them.

Thoughts?

 

If you bring them more inward you’ll lose surface space for tie down points on larger items.

I’m happy with the location. I mount my full size spare in the bed, 33”.

 

Looks good, I’ll run that setup. I think I have it marked out so that the bolts miss the bracing under the bed. Lots of measuring. But it’s looking good.

 

I forgot to mention. I had my gf help me bolt down the tracks. She was in the bed securing one end while I was under the bed fastening on the nut. You’ll need a helping hand.
