Does anyone know of a bed rail system that works with the OEM hard cover that extends up to the cab height?

I'd be interested in buying a roof system for the cab + bed system.

I would like to use the truck for my 12' SUPs, kayaks, & building supplies.

If I need to replace the cover with something else I'm open to that too. I just like having a hard cover to keep the elements out and for security.

    Tried searching, failed...

Voodoo makes em... What I did and I have 2 kayaks 12-13' long is run them flat down facing on the bed racks with a goal post adjustable height hitch mount with a 9" hitch extender so I can open the tail gate.

Here's a pic of the setup.. in the pic my cross bar for the goal post hitch was to short so I had to j-bar the one kayak. I've since got a longer cross bar and can lay them both down flat... and drive 85 on the highway no problemo.

When I was hauling my 14' Hobie kayak, I used Yakima roof racks. Left the bed open for other stuff and easy to deal with by myself.

I was doing research on this while I was looking into getting a truck. There weren't many bed racks that I liked, especially because they were all super tall (way above the roof line) to get a tri fold to work under it. I think I'm going to go with something along the lines of a Pace Edwards Switchblade tonneau, and a Proline 4wd Equipment adjustable bed rack. I still need to confirm with Proline that their bed rack works with said tonneau, and that it's strong enough for a RTT, but that's besides the fact

@TorconTRD has a rack with cover. Not sure what he did to modify it.

Looks like torcon just cut the middle section from his factory tri fold and made a shelf under the rack. I'm with you in wanting to keep my factory cover but have a bed rack to put puddle boards and Kayaks on. I'm sure there is a way to bend a new bracket that lifts the the bed rack the 2 inches needed to get it on top of the cover. But then you wouldn't be able to open the cover which to me is fine as I put carpentry tools in there to keep water off when it rains.

doing some research today and found this nifty little device looks like a winner.

now clearly i dont want the cab protector but the brackets look like what you are looking for.

id assume you can get 2 sets one for the front of bed and one for the back since they do mount inside the rail.

then you just mount the bed rack to it. Now im no metal wiz but maybe @kbvoodoo or some of the other fabricators on the site could chime in.
